SLA: Akira on bad acid.
SLA: Eighties glam-trash inspired roleplay for those who like to pretend.
SLA: a bitter British eighties refraction through grime cracked glass of Shadowrun;
“a MATURE HORROR game of DARK ATMOSPHERE and SERIOUS”

SLA: postulates a futuristic military megacorp controlling an intergalactic indoctrination machine using reality-tv on a planet where you only have to open your door to see the same thing; violence. Protected only by a caste of warrior stars fan-polled by tv channels, most citizens cower in rented sky-rise cells and get on with their shitsorry excuses for consumer lifestyle.

Disparate alien and weird mutant groups have their own perspective and can enlist as operatives to save the crumbling concrete citadel of media zombies from the monsters that are taking over the world. Everything is in decay so what else do you have left to live for? It’s very eighties-dream; fax machines and vcr. The whole thing best played as a music video endlessly ignored in the corner while roots-of-emo teen issues are more fun to deal with between depression clouds of gray muzzled adult domination.

Sounds familiar. I grew up in that same environment; a bleak depression of post-Thatcher Britain where Punk was too pissed to be proper nihilistic nor politically subverse; Travelers had taken a beating from the police at Stonehenge and the future was desolate landscape full of holes in the ozone layer, animal testing and rich clones in suits waving filofax. For us there was Top of the Pops and the disco.

Something had to teach us that Life is what ME make it.
